Position Summary

The RN Vent Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations of our specialized Ventilator Unit, ensuring the highest standards of resident care while maintaining compliance with CMS, state, federal, and facility regulations.

In this leadership role, you'll collaborate with the Director of Nursing (DON), Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team to achieve exceptional clinical outcomes for residents with complex respiratory needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily clinical operations of the Ventilator Unit

  • Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff

  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Assist the DON and ADON with daily nursing operations

  • Participate in the nurse manager on-call rotation

  • Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges

  • Ensure individualized care plans are developed and followed

  • Conduct physician rounds as needed

  • Maintain compliance with CMS, state, federal, and facility regulations

  • Ensure adequate staffing, supplies, medications, and equipment

  • Complete accurate clinical documentation, incident reports, employee evaluations, and quality assurance activities

  • Lead staff meetings, provide coaching, and assign daily responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Current, active, unrestricted North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact State License

  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing supervisory or leadership experience

  • Ventilator and Respiratory Care experience REQUIRED

  • Experience in Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care (LTC), Ventilator Unit, Sub-Acute Rehabilitation, or Post-Acute Care preferred

  • Strong clinical leadership, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to make sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
