Position Summary
The Unit Manager (UM) provides leadership and oversight for a designated nursing unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and effective staff management. This role is key in supporting clinical excellence, staff engagement, and a positive resident experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) to maintain exceptional standards of resident care.
Coordinate and oversee resident care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and Louisville Gardens policies.
Manage staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and continuity of care.
Complete performance evaluations, provide ongoing coaching, and support employee development.
Monitor clinical outcomes and initiate improvements when necessary.
Respond to resident and family concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Participate in quality assurance initiatives, infection control efforts, and safety programs.
Assist with managing unit resources and maintaining cost-effective operations.
Qualifications
Active Ohio RN license required.
At least two (2) years of supervisory experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred.
Proven leadership and team-building abilities.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of skilled nursing regulations and standards of care.
