RN ACU Full Time Days Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For

Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
Experience: One year relevant experience,preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.

Location: Low Country Cancer Care Pay Range: $24.83 - $46.12 Job Description Summary: Provides safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including but not limited to: patient assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration. Follows all Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs) associated with role. Provides triage care when necessary. Communicates patient condition effectively to multidisciplinary team members. Key Performance Areas: Safely and accurately administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non-oncologic agents to patients as ordered by providers. Will use Oncology Nurse’s Society (ONS) standards and guidelines. Accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste, per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines. Responsible for new and ongoing patient education, continual patient assessment, and support. Documentation: Thorough, accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) of treatment rendered to patients. Ensure appropriate charges are captured by following guidelines for appropriate administration of all medications and activities. Will follow proper patient identification per JBI for all patient encounters. Teaching: Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects and planned treatment course. Interact with patient and family in a caring, professional manner.
