Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the RN on the unit, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Licensed Practical (LPN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering care to patients admitted to the nursing unit.
  • Provide direct patient care to medically complex and/or critically ill patients requiring extended hospitalization 
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of medical professionals (Respiratory Therapists, Physical Therapists, Case Managers, Dietitians, Speech Language Pathologists, and more) to assist in carrying out individualized care plans
  • Functions include gathering and reporting data, carrying out orders, and performing therapeutic procedures on patients in an age and population appropriate manner 
  • May perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Qualifications

Education and Training: Holds current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification required. BLS certification must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment.

 

  • Current IV Certification within 90 days of employment, if required per state  regulations.

 

Experience: One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required

Pay Range

USD $30.00 - USD $42.00 /Hr.
