• Instructs and counsels patients and families regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens. (Education, Patient, Educates Patient)

• Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements; acquires knowledge and skills essential to incorporating into practice proven new evaluation/treatment modalities.
• Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve quality; participates in the continued program development and marketing of service line.
• Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to job performance.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Under clinical supervision of a physician and direct supervision of the Manager/Director, the Physician Assistant provides general medical care, treatment and health care services to patients within the scope of their licensure and expertise level of the supervising physician.

Corecivic is currently seeking Nurse Practitioner Primary Care who have a passion for providing the highest quality care in an institutional setting. The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Primary Care under the supervision of the facility physician, provides advanced nursing services and patient care in the facility’s medical program to inmates/residents. The successful applicant should be able to perform ALL of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements. Primary Healthcare Services: Conducts thorough medical evaluations, physical examinations, and medical histories for incarcerated individuals. · Diagnoses and treats a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and infections. · Develops and implements individualized treatment plans, prescribing appropriate medications, therapies, and interventions. · Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, such as pharmaceuticals, laboratory work, radiological examinations, and screenings. · Provides vaccinations, performs health screenings, and promotes preventive care measures within the correctional population. · Performs basic technical skills such as suturing, splinting and injections. Chronic Disease Management: Monitors and manages chronic diseases prevalent among incarcerated individuals, such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, HIV/AIDS, and Hepatitis C. · Ensures proper medication management, including prescribing, adjusting dosages, and monitoring treatment effectiveness. · Educates patients on disease management strategies, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence. · Collaborates with specialty care providers for consultations and referrals, when necessary.
