Job Title: Part Time Wound Care Nurse
Location: The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center – Skilled Nursing Facility

Job Summary:

The Wound Care Nurse (WCN) provides specialized care for residents with acute and chronic wounds, including assessments, treatments, and monitoring. The WCN collaborates with the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring optimal wound healing and prevention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wound Care: Perform assessments, select appropriate treatments, and monitor wound healing progress.

  • Collaborative Care: Work with physicians and the care team to update care plans and recommend additional interventions.

  • Education: Train staff and educate residents and families on wound prevention and care.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of treatments, assessments, and progress in EHR systems.

  • Quality Improvement: Participate in wound care-related quality improvement initiatives and monitor infection/control metrics.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with wound care regulations and assist in audits.

Qualifications:

  • Education: RN license in Florida, Wound Care Certification (WCC) or similar preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 1 years of nursing experience, with a focus on wound care.

  • Skills: Strong knowledge of wound care, critical thinking, and communication skills. Proficiency with EHR systems.

Physical Requirements:

 

Ability to perform physical tasks (e.g., lifting, bending) and work with residents.
