
Nurse Manager, Cross-Bay Center for Peds Pain, Palliative & Integrative Medicine
Job Description
The Cross –Bay Stad Center for Pediatric Pain, Palliative Care, and Integrative Medicine Nurse Manager leads a highly specialized team. Ensures optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and provision of patient care delivery across the continuum of care for Inpatient and Outpatient Services at Benioff Children’s Hospitals as well as the larger UCSF Health System. This is a Cross-Bay position with oversight of both our Mission Bay (SF) and Oakland locations.
Determines objectives, directs programs, develops strategies and policies, manages human, financial, and physical resources, and functions with a high degree of autonomy. Establishes standard systems, policies and procedures, and partners in determining strategies for cross-bay alignment for the three teams within the Stad Center: Pain, Palliative Care, and Integrative Medicine. Promotes environment for a shared voice in nursing practice and exchange of ideas to continually improve nursing and patient care outcomes. Accountable for the quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of patient care. Serves as a consultant to senior management, consults and collaborates with other health care professionals to coordinate the management of patient care across the health system. Serves as a resource to staff, physicians, students and others.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience, in a an outpatient clinic, inpatient nursing unit or inpatient consult service.
- Strong hospital management experience in both the inpatient and outpatient setting, with progressive and in-depth expertise in patient care services. Knowledge of hospital / clinic operations in a hospital or medical center setting; knowledge of appropriate professional standards for the department and team.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to foster and promote an environment for effective communication and collaborative decision making across multiple units and disciplines.
- Excellent leadership, fiscal and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management and staff from all disciplines. Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork, collaboration and consistent achievement of objectives.
- Strong knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments.
- In depth knowledge and clinical experience in the management of pediatric pain, palliative care, and integrative medicine
- Experience in patient care coordination and transitions across the continuum of care- inpatient and outpatient setting
- Master's Degree in Nursing or relevant area preferred.
- Certification in relevant area preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
- Master's Degree in Nursing or relevant area preferred.
- Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certificate
