LPN or RN Rehab

UnityPoint - St. Luke's - Sioux City Downtown

Hours: Full Time, 36 hours per week, 12 hour shifts

Schedule: Days 7:00am-7:30pm, rotating weekends and holidays

Responsible for providing safe and reliable patient care, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Assists the RN in the nursing process, consistent with accepted and prevailing practice, which includes monitoring, observing, and reporting reactions to the patient’s plan of care. Performs tasks or skills which fall within the scope of practice of a licensed practical nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direction and supervision of unlicensed assistive personnel (i.e. Patient Care Technician), demonstrates clinical judgment appropriate for Iowa’s LPN scope of practice, uses problem solving techniques and time-management principles, and delegates appropriately.
  • Assists in creating a positive work environment by working with team members to develop and facilitate initiatives to strive for positive outcomes in quality and care of patients. Effectively communicates with all team members, physicians, ancillary staff and all customers.
  • Complies with all policies and procedures, and guides team members with compliance. Maintains a safe and clean environm Compiles with all safety goals, infection prevention and risk management policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Must have completed an accredited nursing program and possess a valid nursing license.
  • All newly licensed RNs with less than six (6) months of acute RN experience at the time of application are required to successfully complete the Nurse Residency program
  • BSN Preferred.

Experience:

  • Completion of accredited nursing program required.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Valid nursing license required.
  • Basic Certified Life Support (AHA) prior to hire.
  • Receive NIHSS certification within 90 days.
  • Specialty certification is encouraged.
