School Registered Nurse | Cambridge, Massachusetts

Embrace a meaningful opportunity to support student health as a part-time Registered Nurse specializing in school nursing. This role offers the chance to make a direct impact in a high school setting, focusing on a 1:1 caseload with a student diagnosed with Diabetes Insipidusnot Type 1 Diabetes. Located near Cambridge, MA, this contract position begins August 26th and runs through June 15th, with onsite work every Friday when school is in session.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring fluid intake meticulously to support the students health needs
  • Assisting the student, who uses a wheelchair, with mobility while helping facilitate independent toileting
  • Administering a noon dose of medication and vigilantly checking for any signs of sodium imbalance
  • Meeting and supporting the student at Perkins School for the Blind, ensuring continuity of care within the school day

The ideal candidate brings:

  • Active RN licensure in Massachusetts
  • Experience working within school environments, preferably supporting students with medical complexities
  • Reliable transportation to ensure punctual arrival and departure each Friday
  • Commitment to working the fixed scheduleFridays from 8:30am to 3pm, without exceptions or accommodations
  • Compassion, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to student care
