About the Role
Winchester Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate Unit Manager - Short-Term Rehabilitation (STR) to join our nursing leadership team.
As the STR Unit Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our Short-Term Rehabilitation unit while ensuring the delivery of exceptional, resident-centered care. This leadership role is responsible for supervising nursing staff, coordinating interdisciplinary services, monitoring clinical outcomes, and maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and leadership experience, a background in rehabilitation or long-term care, and a passion for supporting both residents and staff.
Unit Manager - Short-Term Rehabilitation (STR) Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the Short-Term Rehabilitation unit.
Supervise and support nursing staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members.
Coordinate and implement individualized resident care plans.
Monitor resident assessments, treatments, and clinical outcomes.
Ensure care is delivered in accordance with facility protocols and safe nursing practices.
Participate in admissions, discharges, and care transitions.
Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and facility regulations.
Provide leadership, guidance, mentoring, and support to nursing staff.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance monitoring.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
Foster a collaborative, team-oriented, and resident-focused environment.
Qualifications
Current, active, and unrestricted Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Previous leadership, supervisory, or unit management experience preferred.
Experience in short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred.
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
