Working alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and a multidisciplinary oncology team, you'll help patients navigate complex treatments while providing education, reassurance, and exceptional nursing care. As an Outpatient Infusion Center Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

Performing comprehensive nursing assessments and coordinating individualized plans of care for patients receiving oncology and infusion therapies
Safely administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, iron infusions, IV hydration, non-chemotherapy infusions, blood transfusions, therapeutic phlebotomies, injections, and other prescribed infusion treatments
Monitoring patients throughout treatment, recognizing changes in condition, managing infusion-related reactions, and responding promptly to clinical concerns
Providing expert care, maintenance, and assessment of venous access devices while ensuring patient comfort and safety
Delivering compassionate education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, symptom management, side effects, and self-care following infusion therapy
Collaborating closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary oncology team to coordinate seamless, patient-centered care
Conducting telephone triage, assessing patient concerns, and providing timely clinical guidance to support treatment continuity
Coordinating multiple appointments while ensuring efficient patient flow and continuity throughout the treatment process
Maintaining accurate documentation within the electronic medical record while adhering to patient safety, infection prevention, and organizational standards
Building meaningful relationships with patients and families through compassionate communication, empathy, and a commitment to delivering exceptional outpatient oncology care

To be considered for this Outpatient Infusion Center Registered Nurse opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing and current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification. An Associate Degree in Nursing is required, while a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Oncology nursing experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with hospital, subacute, or ambulatory care nursing experience are encouraged to apply.
