Risk Manager/Assistant Director of Nursing

Currently seeking a Risk Manager/Assistant Director of Nursing for a skilled nursing facility located in Queens, NY.

Salary: $135K - $150K per year (Based on Experience)

*Candidates must have prior experience in submitting accident and incidents to the DOH*

Qualifications:

• Must have New York RN license

• Must have prior experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing

• Minimum two years of experience in risk management in a skilled nursing facility

• Must have long term care/nursing home experience

• Prior experience in submitting accident and incidents to the DOH

• Knowledge of healthcare liability and risk management practices

• Must have excellent leadership skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:

Review of all accident and incident reports, including accuracy and completion and providing summary of investigation findings within 5 days of incident.

Submission and Completion of Reportable cases to DOH

Review of Staff incident reports/ worker’s comp investigations

Helping to hire, train, teach, and monitor nurses.

Managing clinical operations and developing care plans.

Preparing the daily schedule and planning shifts.

Ensuring nursing staff follows departmental procedures and policies.

Assisting in budget preparation and expense management.

Conducting patient rounds and addressing complaints.

Evaluating the performance of the department and recommending improvements.

Scheduling staff meetings for patient updates, issues, and recommendations.

Ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local standards.

Keeping patient and employee records updated and accurate.
