We are seeking compassionate and organized Registered Nurses to provide essential healthcare support in vibrant school settings near New Orleans, LA. This contract opportunity for the 2026/2027 academic year offers two positions serving students from PreK to 8th grade.

As a school nurse, youll create a healthy, supportive environment for both students and staff. The first position focuses on PreK through 4th grade and includes a vital health room assignment with the responsibility of attending to a student with a tracheostomy who may require suctioning. The second position serves 5th through 8th graders in a dedicated health office role. Shift hours for these positions are 8:00am 3:40pm for PreK-4th, and 8:00am 3:30pm for 5th-8th grade.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
  • Experience in a school or pediatric healthcare setting strongly preferred
  • Comfortable with trach care and suctioning (for PreK-4th grade position)
  • Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
  • Adaptability to manage routine health room duties, emergencies, and medication administration
  • Empathetic, patient-centered attitude with a collaborative spirit

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily nursing care and coordinate student health services
  • Respond to illness and injuries, manage acute and chronic conditions
