We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Resident Medication Aide

Schedule:   

  • Full Time:  7am - 3pm

  • Full Time:  11pm – 7am

Salary: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour, based on experience. 

 

Shift differential also available for Evenings, Nights and Weekend Shifts

Resident Medication Aide Responsibilities include:

  •        Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents’ rights

  •        Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing of bed linens, positioning, transfer, mobility, and incontinence care as needed

  •        Assist in monitoring the medication program

  •        Dispenses medication in accordance with physician orders and as stated on the Medication Administration Record for all residents

Resident Medication Aide Education & Experience:

  •        High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

  •        Two (2) years of resident care experience and/or training required

  •        Successfully complete all trainings as required by state regulations

Essential Responsibilities Administer medications accurately and safely according to physician orders and facility policies. Review Medication Administration Records (MARs) to ensure completeness and accuracy. Assist with medication inventory, storage, and ordering while maintaining proper security and accountability for medications, including controlled substances. Communicate effectively with licensed nurses, physicians, pharmacy staff, residents, and family members regarding medication-related concerns. Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed and provide compassionate, resident-centered care. Maintain compliance with infection prevention, HIPAA, and all federal, state, and facility regulations. Promote a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents, visitors, and team members. Perform additional duties as assigned by nursing leadership. Qualifications Current North Carolina Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification required. Current North Carolina Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing preferred. Current CPR certification required. Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic health records preferred. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
