Job Description
The Registered Nurse plays a vital role in our Recovery Room, working closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team. They are responsible for initiating culturally competent care, overseeing the plan of care, and ensuring its consistency with the medical treatment plan. This role involves assessing, planning, intervening, and evaluating patient care, with a focus on inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. The nurse will actively support performance improvement initiatives and provide leadership to the patient care team.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Initiate culturally competent care, ensuring a continuum of care across settings.
- Oversee and coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care, aligning it with the medical treatment plan.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, identifying and prioritizing problems, and setting goals for care and health promotion.
- Implement specific interventions and orders as per the plan of care and medical treatment plan.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make necessary revisions to the plan of care.
- Document all patient care activities according to standards and organizational policies.
- Support performance improvement initiatives and provide leadership to the patient care team.
- Engage in continuous professional growth through educational activities.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable work environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi-state license required.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required upon hire.
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred, with training provided for incumbents.
- 2 years of medical/surgical and/or emergency room experience preferred.
- ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum of 8 contact hours of education annually in basic trauma, stroke assessment, and intervention.
- ATCN or TNCC certification required within 24 months of hire.
- PALS or ENPC certification attained within 12 months of hire.
- CPI certification required for existing team members by 10/31/25, and new team members have 1 year from the hire date.
