AFC Urgent Care of Louisville is seeking highly motivated Emergency Medical Technicians and Medical Assistants for a full time position. The ideal candidate will be very reliable, caring and able to work well in a team setting. Must be available to work full time with weekends twice a month.

Hours: 
Every Wednesday 1:50pm-8pm, every Thursday and Friday 7:45am-8:00pm, every Saturday 7:45am-5:00pm

Clinic open hours are Monday-Friday 8am-8pm and Saturday and Sunday 8am-5pm. Please see job description below and respond to schedule an interview.

  • Take temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal.
  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
  • Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment and examination of patient.
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved techniques.
  • Maintain awareness of comfort and needs of the patient.
  • Properly start lab equipment daily; Perform maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
  • Maintain daily log; document all requests and results of lab work accurately.
  • Draw blood from patient’s finger, or vein, observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples.
  • Perform laboratory tests according to written instructions.
  • Administer IV fluids to patients (Training provided if not certified)
  • Perform daily quality control and cleaning procedures according to guidelines.
  • Order and stock supplies weekly.
  • Respond to all lab messages and call back requests; share responsibility of call back sheets.
  • Utilize lab software, as well as any lab equipment according to the proper procedure and instruction.
  • Collect specimen from the patient utilizing the approved equipment, sequence and procedure.
  • Observe patient, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisor or provider of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
  • Respond to life saving situations based upon standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
  • Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations.
  • Ensure patient immunizations are appropriate, well documented and administered using approved techniques.
  • Conduct provider referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as needed basis.
  • Document past medical history assessment of patients.
  • Rotate among various clinical services such as lab, medical assistant, and front desk.
  • Prepare rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
  • Ensure work area is neat and clean, fully stocked and ensure all laundry items have been laundered and put away.
  • Manage difficult and emotional customer situations with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
  • Observe safety and security procedures; promote a safe and pleasant work environment.
  • Report potentially unsafe conditions to management.
  • Respond to all patient messages; documenting conversations in electronic medical records system, assist with any patient discharging duties and share responsibility of call back sheets.
  • Regular attendance to ensure efficient clinic operations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Directly reporting to a Nurse Manager, this position will supervise Medical Assistants (MAs) and manage, with other inter-disciplinary leadership, integrated health services at CCH Satellite sites. This will be done in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern CCH to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is managed at all times. This position is approximately 50% administrative and 50% skilled medical assistant care to the patients. Primary work location is Stout Street Health Center, which is located at 2130 Stout Street in Denver. Saturdays are required. \n Additional Requirement Valid driver’s license required. Performs various personnel actions related to hiring, orientation, onboarding, performance appraisals, and counseling. Is responsible for the competency of all MA staff members, ensuring medical assistant staff members are delivering high-quality healthcare services while practicing within their perspective scope, at the highest level, in accordance with the State of Colorado. Holds regular 1:1 supervisions with direct reports, including permanent, temporary, agency, or volunteer staff who are filling these roles. Provides feedback, coaching, mentorship, training, support, competency evaluations, and performance management feedback. Maintains a high-standard of care on the team by offering or assigning relevant trainings, by providing clear expectations of best practices, policies, and procedures, by evaluating staff with quality assurance metrics, such as auditing direct client care and documentation practices, monitoring environment of care, and supporting remediation or counseling as necessary. Efficiently manages continuous responsibilities of role, including but not limited to scheduling, timesheets, Safetyzone review, staff completion of mandatory trainings, punctuality and attendance to pertinent meetings, and ensuring team’s adherence to policies, procedures, and standard work. Is responsible for daily huddles surrounding updates on patient care, daily staffing, operations, and quality improvement initiatives. Ensures, through delegation and engagement of frontline staff, the utilization of a Visual Management Board as a means of communication on quality improvement metrics, policy and procedure changes, and announcements. Communicates pertinent information to Operations and MA-Nursing Leadership team members regarding MA FTE, discipline prioritization matrix, minimum and ideal team staffing ratios, temporary or permanent scheduling adjustments, or other special considerations that may impact scheduling. Communicates. organizes, and co-leads discipline meetings on a regular basis in conjunction with other MA Supervisors. Facilitates, leads, or participates in other leadership, discipline, or inter-discipline team meetings as appropriate or assigned. Maintains a professional and confidential work environment. Helps create and coach a climate within the integrated healthcare team of collaboration, mutual respect, and trust. Ensures collaboration of care and consistency within and between all integrated health teams, which is an ongoing part of our best practices policy. Provides effective communication with patients, integrated health team members, and community partners. Ensures pertinent information is shared with team members in a timely manner. Acts as a leader to share information and to problem-solve with other MA, RN, or other CCH leadership for the purpose of continuous improvement to patient care and staff needs. Brings personnel issues to the attention of appropriate supervisors for resolution. Champions and leads quality improvement initiatives for the team. Shares knowledge with and coaches other MA team or inter-disciplinary members on quality improvement & LEAN methodology. Maintains competence in all duties outlined in current Medical Assistant job description, including but not limited to noted essential job functions under categories of safe direct clinical care, laboratory collection and specimen processing, proficiency of electronic health record and other documentation practices, and the integrated healthcare model of care. Qualifications Summary High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program or Emergency Medical Technician-Basic certification. Preferred experience as a supervisor. One year of experience as a Medical Assistant/EMT working for CCH preferred At least “Meets Expectations” on their most recent performance review. Certification in basic life support (CPR).
