This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education, and leadership development. Possesses the ability to convey and deliver information thoroughly and effectively using a variety of styles and techniques.

Holds staff accountable to quality, safe patient care through compliance with approved policies and procedures. Participates in staff and peer evaluations providing feedback and opportunities for improvement. Bed Flow Coordination: Plays key role in bed coordination and allocation during periods of surge alerts. Directs the nursing office-based bed coordinators. Communicates census and bed flow plans daily at huddle. Coordinates and communicates patient admissions to unit-based nurse facilitators and removes barriers to expedite flow and assure admission timeframe targets. Collaborates and assigns bed of transfers from other hospitals to LGH. Determines and communicates need to hold patients in non-bedded units e.g PACU, post procedure areas etc based on census and discharges. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Required Qualifications: Current licensure as Registered Professional Nurse, issued by the PA State Board of Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN. Seven 7 years of experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting Three 3 or more years of experience in a managerial hospital operations role e.g. Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, Nursing Supervisor, Charge Nurse Facilitator A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid and other federal and state health insurance programs, i.e. not excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid or any other federal or state health insurance program. Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Masters in Healthcare. Previous Nursing Supervisor experience. Large teaching hospital or specialty hospital experience e.g. Women’s and Baby .
