This position offers a collaborative practice environment with a combination of inpatient Labor & Delivery coverage and outpatient office coverage in a general OB/GYN setting located in Lincolnton , NC. The role supports the on-call physician in the hospital and includes responsibilities involving labor and delivery, obstetric triage, postpartum care, and assisting in the OR as needed.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CNM seeking a balanced inpatient/outpatient role within a growing women’s services division focused on high-quality, evidence-based care and long-term provider satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic care

  • Support labor and delivery coverage in collaboration with supervising physicians

  • Perform obstetric triage and postpartum evaluations

  • Assist in the operating room as needed

  • Deliver patient education and counseling related to pregnancy, reproductive health, and wellness

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to evidence-based best practices

  • Promote compassionate, patient-centered care throughout all stages of treatment

TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with current North Carolina licensure or eligibility

  • Board Certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Midwifery from an accredited program

  • Current RN and CNM licenses

  • DEA License eligible

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required

  • ACLS certification preferred

  • Previous CNM or Labor & Delivery experience required

  • Strong communication skills and commitment to collaborative, patient-centered care
