Looking for a way to stay connected to patient care while maintaining control of your schedule? Glendive Medical Center is seeking dependable Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses to join our PRN Acute Care team.
As a member of our nursing staff, you'll have the opportunity to care for patients across several specialties while supporting a healthcare team committed to delivering exceptional service to the communities of Eastern Montana and Western North Dakota.
Your Role
PRN nurses provide essential support throughout the hospital, helping maintain high standards of care when additional staffing is needed. This position offers variety, flexibility, and the chance to expand your clinical experience across multiple patient populations.
Work areas include ER, ICU, Med/Surg, OB, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, and Transitional Care
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and communicate concerns to the healthcare team
- Administer medications and treatments within your scope of practice
- Monitor patient progress and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Assist with care planning and documentation
- Support patients and families through education and communication
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and nursing colleagues to promote positive outcomes
- Contribute to a safe, respectful, and patient-focused environment
LPNs practice under the supervision of an RN
PRN Requirements
To maintain active PRN status, employees must work:
- Minimum of five shifts each quarter
- At least one weekend shift per quarter
- One observed holiday shift annually
What We're Looking For
Required
- Current Montana RN or LPN license, or compact multistate licensure
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic healthcare environment
Preferred
- Previous hospital or acute care experience
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking abilities
- Experience working with diverse patient populations
