What will you be doing?

The Nurse is responsible for promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for clients all clients of BriteLife Recovery. At BriteLife Recovery, we offer a unique opportunity for nurses to maintain their therapeutic relationships with their patients without the chaos and unsafe staffing ratios that are common in the hospital setting. There are no bedpans, IVs, or bed alarms and all clients perform their own ADLs.

 

What tasks are required?

  • Assists clinical team with the Admissions process;

  • Administers medications, treatments and procedures according to standard nursing practices and applicable facility policies;

  • Carries out a plan of care and medication orders from Physicians and Nurse Practitioners; 

  • Educates clients regarding potential side effects of medications and observes for side effects;

  • Monitors clients for substance misuse related withdrawal symptoms;

  • Maintains electronic health records (EHR);

  • Provides crisis management (often involving intoxicated clients);

  • Positively promotes BriteLife Recovery to prospective clients and employees.

  • Maintain resident’s confidentiality and privacy.

  • Assure quality of care by adhering to DHEC standards of practice and facility standards of care.

  • Assist with solving resident’s problems by working with the interdisciplinary team.

 

What we need from you?

  • Current LPN or RN license in good standing in South Carolina.

  • Experience with documentation and data entry within an EHR 

  • Experience working with alcohol or substance use treatment preferred.

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.

  • Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to interact with staff and clients in a professional manner.

  • Ability to assess needs and deliver nursing services to individuals detoxifying from substance use.

  • Ability to screen for psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication, and withdrawal symptoms.

  • Ability to screen for danger to self or others.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to determine nursing recommendations and priorities.

  • Demonstrated adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.

  • Participation in continuing Professional Development.

  • Understanding of the benefits and limitations of toxicology testing procedures.

  • Knowledge of strategies for treating alcohol, cocaine, and other drug use.

  • Knowledge of medication-assisted therapy.

  • Ability to provide education and information to individuals and groups, through formal and/or informal processes, concerning their substance use.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of accepted principles of client record management.

Sign-On Bonus Payout Schedule
The sign-on bonus will be paid in three installments as follows:

  • 50% – Paid with the first paycheck.
  • 25% – Paid upon satisfactory completion of ninety (90) days of employment.
  • 25% – Paid upon satisfactory completion of one (1) year of employment.

Eligibility for each installment is contingent upon the employee meeting all performance and conduct expectations at the time of payment. The employee understands that the signing bonus is forfeited if the employee fails to report to work on the first day and the initial two payments must be paid back if the employee does not satisfactorily complete 6 months of employment.

LPN Assessment Nurse SOURCE

JOB PURPOSE: Conducting initial assessments and reassessments for members/clients for the elderly and disabled waiver program. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Completes initial and annual assessments in client/member’s home and determines member ability to complete IADLs and ADLs. 2. Completes modified assessments as needed for transfers, hospital and nursing home discharges, and increased or added services. 3. Assures members have services to remain in their community and fulfills the fiduciary obligation to meet members’ needs based on guidelines. 4. Communicates monthly with administrator to receive re-assessment schedule for SOURCE and CCSP annual review. 5. Review medications for appropriateness. Makes note of any new medications, dosages, and discontinued medications. 6. Documents assessment entries into Harmony system within guidelines established by the agency and/or regulatory groups. Requests medical and hospital records as needed to assist with determining eligibility. 7. Participates in team meetings with Medical Director weekly to present all approved new admits, reassessments, hospitalizations, Home Health admits and discharges, and repeat variances. Also, members with potential for discharge, actual discharges, and situations threatening someone’s health or functional status. 8. Attends and participates in mandatory in-services. 9. Complies with corporate compliance program. 10. Reports job-related functions/tasks that involve occupational hazards including exposure to blood and body fluids and others as necessary. 11. Follows established safety regulations, to include fire protection & prevention, smoking regulations, and infection control and prevention. 12.
