To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, an unencumbered State of South Dakota Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN);
Prior Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience in a skilled nursing environment is preferable.

Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Avantara Milbank by ensuring residents receive the medication and nursing care they need as directed by their individual care plan, conducting resident assessments, being a team leader, and advocating for your residents. Completes dialysis treatments, initiation and discontinuation from internal accesses, monitoring of vascular access function and appropriately reports signs of stenosis, occlusion or infection to RN. Assembles and prepares necessary treatment supplies, rinses and primes dialyzer and attaches and installs all required tubing according to unit procedure. Test and set parameters according to dialysis prescription. Monitors equipment for safe and proper functioning, respond to alarms, and make appropriate adjustments; including blood flow rates and fluid removal rates Completes accurate documentation of dialysis access and patient treatment. Observes patient during treatments, notifies RN of any adverse reactions. Responds to dialysis –related emergencies, immediately seeking assistance from RN. Provides technical assistance to nurses and readily follows direction from nurses for hemodialysis treatments.
