Key Responsibilities:

Patient Monitoring & Assessment: Regularly monitor patients' vital signs, physical condition, and emotional well-being, documenting any changes in their status. Work with physicians and care teams to ensure appropriate interventions.
Medication Administration & Management: Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient responses, and adjust treatments as necessary according to physicians' orders. Ensure medication records are accurate and up-to-date.
Collaborative Care: Work closely with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure continuity of care.
Patient Education & Support: Provide education and guidance to patients and families on healthcare plans, medication management, and self-care techniques to promote recovery and wellness.
Routine Nursing Duties: Perform routine nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter management, specimen collection, and other essential healthcare services under the direction of the Unit Manager.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, treatments, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including monitoring for signs of acute distress and administering first aid or emergency treatments when necessary.
Assist with Admissions & Discharges: Support patient admissions and discharges, ensuring a smooth transition and necessary documentation is completed. Provide patient and family education regarding post-care instructions.
Administrative Support: Assist in coordinating daily operations, including inventory management for medical supplies, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols, and supporting the Unit Manager with various administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

Active LPN or RN license in the state of Ohio.
Strong commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to team-based care.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Details Physician Office | Kettering | Resource (PRN) | First Shift Responsibilities & Requirements Previous experience in a medical environment to gain practical knowledge in the following areas is preferred: examination process, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, medical equipment and instruments, safety hazards and precautions, confidentiality/discretion. Computer literate in use of word processing and email, with experience in electronic medical records preferred. Under the supervision of the physician and/or practice manager, assists and delivers patient care duties, and provides administrative support throughout the practice. The Medical Assistant is responsible for: Assists physician in examinations. Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician. Takes blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration. Stock rooms with adequate medical supplies, wash and dry instruments, and prepare sterilization as required. Assist with any procedures that have been taught through formal training or by licensed nurse or physician(s). Keeps medical records in accordance to procedures and forms. Follows principles of medical ethics. Any other duties relating to the business operation of the medical practice that may be assigned by the physician(s) or practice office manager. Requirements Must either have six months experience as a Medical Assistant, OR, have graduated from an accredited MA or Medical Office Management program that meets nationally accepted standards.
