Position Overview

Heritage Grove Estates is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support clinical operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care. This leadership role is responsible for providing clinical oversight, supporting nursing staff performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best-practice care protocols.

As ADON, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team to oversee daily nursing functions, promote staff development, and maintain excellence in clinical outcomes. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to balance clinical quality with operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of nursing staff, including training coordination and orientation processes

  • Assist in developing and maintaining staffing schedules to ensure adequate nursing coverage across all shifts

  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance management for nursing staff, including corrective action when necessary

  • Conduct regular rounds to assess resident conditions and observe nursing practices for quality and compliance

  • Review and audit clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory standards

  • Lead or participate in staff meetings to discuss resident care, clinical updates, and operational priorities

  • Conduct employee performance evaluations, identifying strengths and opportunities for development

  • Monitor departmental operations and assist in managing resources to align with budgetary expectations

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, resident-centered care delivery

  • Support quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to facility policies, CMS regulations, and state requirements

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

  • Strong knowledge of nursing best practices, regulatory requirements, and federal, state, and local healthcare laws

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff effectively

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications
