The Nurse Educator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering educational programs for nursing and clinical staff. This role promotes continuous learning, professional development, clinical excellence, and safe, high-quality patient care throughout the organization.

  • Coordinate and facilitate orientation programs for new nursing staff and patient care team members

  • Develop and deliver engaging educational sessions, classroom instruction, and clinical training programs

  • Maintain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification and provide ongoing emergency response education

  • Assess educational and competency needs related to clinical practice, equipment, policies, procedures, and quality initiatives

  • Collaborate with leadership teams to support staff development and performance improvement efforts

  • Conduct competency evaluations and implement remediation or additional training when needed

  • Create evidence-based educational materials and continuing education opportunities

  • Maintain accurate records of training attendance and educational activities in compliance with regulatory standards including Joint Commission and NYSDOH requirements

  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods including presentations, online learning modules, simulations, demonstrations, and hands-on training

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)

  • Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience

  • 1 year long-term care experience preferred

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license through NYSED

  • Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
