RN Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in overseeing clinical operations and ensuring the highest standards of resident-centered care. This leadership role plays a key part in maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting staff development, and promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence.

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Duties:

  • Oversee and support the delivery of nursing care to meet the medical needs of all residents

  • Coordinate and monitor infection control practices to ensure compliance and resident safety

  • Provide ongoing education, training, and support to nursing staff

  • Assist with regulatory compliance and promote effective communication across all levels of the nursing team

  • Help coordinate and direct the overall planning and delivery of nursing services

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of nursing practices, policies, and procedures

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of medical records and documentation

  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new nursing staff

  • Oversee daily staffing processes to ensure appropriate coverage and quality care

  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the facility and residents

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required

  • Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in a long-term care setting required

  • Prior management or leadership experience preferred

  • Previous staff education or training experience preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience supervising nursing staff

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
