Department: 35173 Atrium Health Union - Nursing: Neonatal Level III Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hou rs Per Week: 36 Schedule Details/Additional Information: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week; 7p-7a Pay Range: $38.20 - $57.30 Our 7-bed Level III NICU provides specialized care for neonates born at 28 weeks gestation and above who require advanced monitoring and transitional support. The unit offers 24/7 provider coverage, with NICU staff attending all high-risk deliveries to ensure immediate assessment and stabilization. Infants requiring cardiac interventions or urgent surgical care are promptly transferred to a higher level of specialty care. This collaborative, family-centered unit brings together nurses, providers, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment dedicated to supporting the unique needs of newborns and their families. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of NICU experience and be comfortable caring for neonatal patients requiring specialized observation and support. Major Responsibilities: Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care. Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes. Upholds and promotes a culture of safety. Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed. May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
