Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Assist with procedures ordered by physician and supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN). Accommodate patients/participants with tending to personal care, activities of daily living and transfers/transport. Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Assist with keeping patients/participants rooms clean and orderly. Monitor patients/participants environment for safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective action as appropriate, as needed. What minimum requirements you’ll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
