Overview

RN Unit Manager – Skilled Nursing

Elderwood of Lakeside at Brockport | Brockport, NY

Lead a Unit. Develop a Team. Strengthen Clinical Care.

Elderwood of Lakeside at Brockport is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Unit Manager to provide clinical and operational leadership for one of our nursing units.

This is a visible, hands-on leadership position for an RN who can bring structure, accountability, sound clinical judgment, and consistent support to a nursing team. You will partner closely with the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, providers, rehabilitation professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to strengthen nursing practice, employee performance, and resident outcomes.

You will have meaningful accountability for your unit - but you will not be expected to lead without support. Lakeside’s nursing leaders benefit from onsite partnership and the broader clinical resources of Elderwood Administrative Services.

Long-Term Relationships and Post-Acute Clinical Variety

Elderwood of Lakeside at Brockport is a 120-bed skilled nursing community offering long-term and memory care, subacute rehabilitation, IV therapy, and orthopedic, cardiac, post-surgical, hospice, and palliative services. This clinical variety gives the RN Unit Manager the opportunity to strengthen nursing practice, develop employee competencies, coordinate interdisciplinary care, and build meaningful relationships with residents and families.

Lead With Support Behind You

As RN Unit Manager, you will provide 24-hour oversight and accountability for your assigned unit while working primarily on a generally day-shift schedule, with flexibility based on facility and unit needs.

You will work closely with the Director of Nursing, ADON, Administrator, and interdisciplinary team.

Facility clinical teams also receive support from Elderwood Administrative Services, including organization-wide clinical leadership from the Chief Nursing Officer and an assigned Regional Nurse Consultant who serves as a resource to facility leaders. The Regional Nurse Consultant partners with the DON, ADON, Administrator, and clinical team to share best practices, help navigate complex challenges, and support priorities involving quality, regulatory readiness, clinical operations, and nursing leadership development.

This structure gives you the opportunity to lead locally while benefiting from the experience, perspective, and resources of a larger clinical organization.

Build the Next Stage of Your Nursing Leadership Career

Elderwood is committed to identifying and developing the next generation of clinical leaders. Nurses who demonstrate strong performance, leadership potential, and an interest in future Director of Nursing opportunities may be considered for advanced development experiences, including Widener University’s Director of Nursing Leadership Academy.

Designed for current and aspiring DONs, the 12-week academy combines online learning, leadership coaching, faculty mentorship, and in-person applied workshops. Its curriculum addresses the practical demands of nursing leadership, including communication, decision-making, team development, retention, financial fundamentals, strategic planning, and change management.

If you are ready to lead a unit today while preparing for greater clinical leadership responsibility in the future, Elderwood offers an environment where your potential can be recognized, developed, and supported.
