Key Qualifications:

  • Active Massachusetts RN license required
  • Prior experience in a school nursing environment strongly preferred
  • Excellent clinical assessment, emergency response, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations, including students, faculty, and families
  • Organized, reliable, and adaptable, with a caring approach to student care

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver compassionate, responsive daily health services and assessments to high school students
  • Maintain thorough and confidential health records, ensuring compliance with state and district guidelines
  • Manage and administer medications, treatments, and first aid, including for chronic conditions
  • Respond to urgent medical needs calmly and efficiently
  • Provide health education and preventive care information to students
  • Collaborate with the school team to support wellness initiatives and address individual student health plans

You’ll enjoy a steady weekday schedule, with office hours running Monday–Friday from 7:15am–2:15pm, totaling 35 hours a week over a 12-week assignment. We achieve this by providing a standards-based, rigorous instructional program focused on academic achievement and the development of 21st-century skills, accompanied by a comprehensive system of support. These efforts are monitored and assessed regularly to ensure accountability to all stakeholders. Position Summary: The School Nurse (R.N.) provides professional nursing services to support the health and wellness of students and staff. This position plays a critical role in the educational environment by addressing the physical, emotional, and social health needs of students, promoting a safe and healthy school climate, and coordinating care with families and community health providers. The School Nurse also supports compliance with health mandates and ensures that school health policies are upheld.
