School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | Cambridge, Massachusetts

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts is required
  • School nursing experience is highly desired, but strong clinical backgrounds will be considered
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Experience supporting adolescents in a healthcare or school setting is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily nursing care, assessments, and interventions for students and staff
  • Respond quickly to medical emergencies and administer first aid as needed
  • Support students with chronic health needs and medication management
  • Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state and school policies
  • Collaborate closely with other nursing staff to support the entire school building
  • Promote health education and offer guidance on wellness topics

This assignment runs as soon as possible for 12 weeks, in a vibrant high school with dedicated office hours from 7:15 AM to 2:15 PM, Monday through Friday for a total of 35 hours per week.

We achieve this by providing a standards-based, rigorous instructional program focused on academic achievement and the development of 21st-century skills, accompanied by a comprehensive system of support. These efforts are monitored and assessed regularly to ensure accountability to all stakeholders. Position Summary: The School Nurse (R.N.) provides professional nursing services to support the health and wellness of students and staff. This position plays a critical role in the educational environment by addressing the physical, emotional, and social health needs of students, promoting a safe and healthy school climate, and coordinating care with families and community health providers. The School Nurse also supports compliance with health mandates and ensures that school health policies are upheld.
