Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Opportunity
Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient treatment services to adolescents and adults at our 86-bed facility in Panama City, FL and outpatient services to adolescents and adults at our four outpatient centers located throughout the Florida Panhandle. Additionally, we offer specialized treatment for active duty military members through our Military Resiliency Program, specialized chemical dependency treatment and TMS therapy for chronic depression.

The Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) oversees the quality of care delivered to assigned patients with supervising psychiatrist. Performs medical assessments for individuals under his/her care. Completes documentation necessary to address patients hospitalized under civil commitment statutes. Provides individual therapy, family therapy and/or medication management as needed for patients. Appropriately requests consultation when indicated.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides direct clinical services for psychiatric patients according to established protocols and utilizes evidence-based clinical practice standards under the supervision of the supervising physician.
- Functions independently to perform individual assessments, diagnostic functions, specialized risk assessments, and make critical decisions regarding a wide variety of health situations, including high risk and crisis situations.
- Obtains patient health histories and completes examinations. Orders, performs and interprets lab and diagnostic imaging studies. Diagnoses and treats acute health problems. Provides health maintenance, screenings and referrals.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree or Post-Master’s Degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
- Active Florida State license as APRN. Active Florida State DEA license within six months of hire.
- Active National Certification from an Approved Nursing Specialty Board.
- Ability to work onsite at our Okaloosa Outpatient Center in Fort Walton Beach, FL
- One (1) year experience working with behavioral health population as an ARNP preferred.
