Job Description:

  • Provides necessary education to patients and families from admission to discharge, covering medical and nursing care plans, medications, tests, procedures, disease processes, and discharge instructions.
  • Documents education provided, including patient responses and outcomes. Initiates referrals to healthcare providers as needed.
  • Delivers competent, compassionate care to patients in pain according to policy and maintains a safe care environment.
  • Administers medications accurately as ordered. Responds to unit and hospital code situations.
  • Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients requiring oxygen support.
  • Assists physicians with bedside procedures.
  • Manages patient admissions, transfers, and discharges professionally.
  • Verifies and signs off physician orders and obtains lab specimens as ordered.
  • Evaluates the nursing care plan to ensure safe, competent care delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes. [Required]
  • Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows-based programs. [Required]
  • Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills) [Required]


Education:

Work Experience:

Job Summary and Qualifications When you are the Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge RN) for our Progressive Care Unit , you will be collaborating with the director to lead a team of amazing medical professionals. What you should expect to do in this role: You will collaborate with the Director to provide leadership to our team and play a role in fiscal, human resource, and operational functions Your role will a ctively participate in department and hospital strategic planning and will effectively implement new programs and services You will be m aintain ing an effective competency and staff development program You will work on day-to-day operations such as: processing payroll, managing department expenses, participating on hospital committees, processing employee evaluations, managing personnel issues You will be assisting in maintaining a departmental staffing plan that meets the needs of the customer and is responsive to the changing census You will a ssure an appropriate skill mix and staffing levels in accordance with volume demands You will c reate/foster a positive environment and will lead by example and by holding staff accountable for their behaviors and attitudes (compassionate, professional, communicative) What qualifications you will need for this role: Current Colorado Registered Nurse License or valid compact license Current BLS, American Heart Association or American Red Cross, required ACLS provider card required within the first 12 months of hire, AHA or ARC.
