The Clinical Manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and works collaboratively with other nursing leaders in shared responsibility of the Nursing Division at Jay Hospital. This includes oversight of procedures and care provided for patients in surgery, GE, pain management and sterile processing. The nurse leader collaborates with the physician specialists in scheduling and planning care. This role also works with physician specialties utilizing the Jay Medical Clinic. The nurse leader has authority to make decisions impacting their unit in the areas of patient care, human resource and financial management. Other duties as assigned by supervisor may include leadership support of other areas.
What you will do
- Assists the director in development, implementation and evaluation of on going service programs that assure quality nursing and patient care programs consistent with hospital mission.
- Monitors/maintains unit compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policy for patient services, and environmental and personnel safety.
- Oversees quality improvement program which monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
- Serves as part of the nursing leadership team to provide cross coverage of the division in the absence of other nurse leaders. Takes rotational call every 3rd to 4th week as nursing administrative support for Jay Hospital.
- Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow through and communication.
- Manage team members which include orientation, development and evaluation of personnel, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates their performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to staff, recommends in-service education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Associates Degree Nursing Required
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree Business, Nursing, Health Care, Within three (3) years of employment Required
Minimum Work Experience
- 2 years clinically related experience Required
- 1-3 years charge nurse or supervisory experience Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
- ACLS Provider (ACLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
- Professional Nursing Certification within 2 Years Required

- Demonstrated clinical competence in relevant area of Nursing practice
- Demonstrated leadership ability and potential managerial competency.
