Summary:

The Medical Assistant assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. The Medical Assistant will conduct patient intake, take vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and complete patient health history in the electronic medical record. The ideal candidate will display good decision making skills, be able to multi-task, have knowledge of anatomy, and is proficient in medical terminology. This role may be required to draw and collect blood samples for patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, which may involve exposure to bodily fluids during patient care. The assistant must be friendly, professional, and able to keep a fast pace during clinic hours.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE: Completion of a medical assistant program preferred. Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred

CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, BONDING: American Heart Association, BLS

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: May be exposed to a variety of healthcare settings, including clinical, office or maintenance environments
