Medical Assistant - Infusion Therapy- Full Time with Benefits

The Medical Assistant (MA) performs clinical duties and some administrative function under the direction of medical group providers to include preparing patients for examination, taking and recording vital signs, patient histories, and assisting with various procedures. This position is needed to work in prescription refill and pre-authorization. 

REQUIRED: Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills towards patients of different age categories. Models sensitivity to patients, including effective telephone and verbal communication in emergency situations. Demonstrates effective good oral/writing skills. Must be able to pass all competencies related to Medical Assistant duties. Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients from neonate to geriatric. Must possess excellent customer relations skills avoiding antagonism, conflicts and undue anxiety. Must possess keyboard/computer skills. Frederick Health values and promotes a diverse workforce. Role as electronic prescription refill and prior authorization to support provider tasks and phone calls from patients.

PERFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED: Medical Assistant certification, LPN, Pharmacy Tech, Emergency Medical Technician certification, or be a current Certified Nursing Assistant.

Pay is based on experience, skills and education.  Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.  The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid, if applicable.

Pay range: Hourly Rate $20.00 - $27.77
