Monday - Friday 
$15,000 Sign-On Bonus with an 24 Month Commitment

Job Summary:

  • Maintain oversight of the daily operations of the surgical services department regarding staffing, performance improvement and scheduling
  • Ensure safe and effective nursing care to all patients utilizing care in the surgical services department 
  • Perform duties for the surgical patient in accordance with the Nursing Standards of Care and AORN Standards and will implement and evaluate that care utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Organize and oversee the operating room during the surgical procedure by maintaining surgical records, assisting anesthesia as needed, keeping the patient’s family informed of the patient’s condition, assuring patient’s safety and comfort, assisting scrub team in maintaining sterile field, controlling and maintaining equipment and supplies
  • Will function as a member of the surgical team linking sterile and non-sterile fields
  • Assure the plan of care is carried out in a safe environment through performance and supervision of subordinate personnel
  • Responsible for the direction and supervision of the assigned personnel within their department

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing 
  • Must have a RN license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas 
  • Rural healthcare leadership experience preferred 
  • The position requires intimate knowledge of both departmental and hospital policies and procedures relevant to the delivery of patient care
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
