Job Summary:

This position is accountable for providing competent nursing care for patients with common health problems, and is expected to deliver competent patient care to a full patient assignment. This position practices under the direction of the designated nurse executive, within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Children's policies.

Qualifications:


Education

  • Program Accredited nursing program (required)
  • Bachelors Degree Nursing (preferred)


Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse License - CA-BRN - California Board of Registered Nursing (required)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association For Labor Pool - Any standard BLS (Heart Code not required) within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • PEARS - Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization - AHA - American Heart Association For employees hired into Apollo, Craycroft, Discovery, Explorer, and Peds Rehab. within 12 months of hire or transfer into position (required)


Work Experience

  • Minimum six (6) months (required)
  • Mastery of RN I performance standards and accompanying competencies (required)

Additional Position Details

  • This is a per diem, non-benefited position. During the initial assignment, the selected candidate will work a full-time schedule to provide coverage for an employee on leave. Upon the employee's return, the position will continue as a per diem role, with significantly reduced hours based on departmental needs.
