Charge Nurse - Day Surgery - Part Time

$63.16 - $91.58 / hour
About Us: The Perioperative Department at Valley Children’s Hospital is a robust division, incorporating many procedural areas and their associated support services. Periop supports every service line within the hospital, providing care to patients in the Central Valley and its surrounding areas and collaborates with outlying facilities to accomplish our mission to provide the best care to our patients, always. The Day Surgery process begins with pre-op admitting of the patient, which is inclusive of assessing the patient pre-surgery and preparing them for their surgical day. The most common surgeries are ENT followed by orthopedics and general surgeries and the patients range in age from newborn to young adult. Post-op phase II is a separate area from the admitting location and requires an entirely different set of skills. This phase of recovery occurs when the patient is awake and transferred from the recovery room to day surgery post-op where the patient is reunited with family and we begin preparing for discharge. Periop as a whole employs a vast number of skilled individuals within various units, including registered nurses (RNs), operating room technicians (ORTs), special procedure technicians, sterile processing technicians, imaging technicians, and more. Each division works to provide their team with advancement opportunities that encourage self-development, offer process improvements, and ultimately work to improve outcomes for our patients. Job Summary: This position is accountable for managing the overall operations of a defined patient care unit during an assigned shift. The incumbent is accountable for monitoring, evaluation, and directing patient care provided by staff, coordinating activities of the patient care unit, making staff assignments and assisting with the development and evaluation of staff members. The incumbent will assist with the recruitment and hiring of staff, evaluating staff competency and evaluating, coaching, and counseling assigned staff in concert with the Manager/Supervisor. This position practices within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Children's policies. Qualifications : The Day Surgery Charge Nurse will provide leadership and coverage across both the preoperative and postoperative phases of care , supporting patient flow and coordination throughout the Day Surgery continuum. In addition to these PEP responsibilities, this role will maintain the competencies necessary to support Day Surgery RN staffing needs and may be assigned to provide direct patient care in the Day Surgery unit as operational needs require. This flexibility will support continuity of care, staffing coverage, and operational efficiency while maintaining a primary focus on the preoperative evaluation process. Neonatal Nurse Practitioner - Varied Shift

About Us: The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Valley Children’s Hospital is Central California’s only Regional Level IV NICU - the highest level of medical care available for premature and critically ill newborns. With a focus on family-centered care, our patients have access to a full range of pediatric and surgical specialists that treat potentially life-threatening illnesses due to extreme prematurity, congenital defects, injury, chronic illnesses and more. Our NICU patient ratios are 1:1 or 2:1 in the ICU and 1:3 in Intermediate Care. Collectively, our NICUs provide specialized care for more than 1,400 fragile babies and nearly 25,000 patient days a year. Our team supports a network of NICUs throughout Central California, providing services for Madera County, Merced County, Fresno County, Kings County and Tulare County. Registered Nurse II - Oncology Clinic - Full Time

About Us: Our Pediatric Oncology Clinic is one of the leading pediatric cancer facilities on the West Coast, offers specialized services for a wide range of cancer diagnoses.
