Ditmas Children’s Nursing & Rehab is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor to join our pediatric nursing leadership team for the morning shift.

This position is responsible for overseeing nursing staff and ensuring high-quality care for medically complex pediatric residents. The RN Supervisor will provide clinical leadership throughout the shift, support the nursing team, and work closely with physicians, nursing leadership, respiratory therapy, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.

Candidates must have previous PICU or NICU experience and be comfortable caring for children with complex medical needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and nursing staff during the morning shift

  • Oversee the care of medically complex pediatric residents

  • Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff

  • Monitor residents for changes in condition and ensure appropriate interventions and follow-up

  • Oversee admissions, transfers, physician orders, medications, treatments, and nursing documentation

  • Ensure nursing policies, clinical protocols, and standards of care are consistently followed

  • Respond to clinical emergencies and provide leadership during urgent situations

  • Communicate with physicians, families, nursing leadership, and other members of the interdisciplinary team

  • Ensure appropriate staffing and nursing coverage throughout the shift

  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness

  • Follow up on incidents, changes in condition, and other clinical concerns

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive environment for residents and staff

Qualifications

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • PICU or NICU experience required

  • Experience caring for medically complex pediatric patients

  • Previous RN Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or nursing leadership experience strongly preferred

  • Strong pediatric clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills

  • Ability to supervise and support a multidisciplinary nursing team

  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Compensation & Benefits

$130,000–$140,000 per year, based on experience.

The RN provides nursing care with special emphasis on control of pain and other symptoms to the hospice patient. Job Functions for Registered Nurse: Assess the physical and psychological status of the patient. Reviews past and present medical history of the patient. Perceptive in planning and problem solving. Provides emotional support to caregivers. Responds to calls promptly when received from answering service. Is able to prioritize. Able to work independently and make critical decisions based on available patient information. Performs ongoing assessment of patients conditions, physical needs and needs of family for support in giving care.
