JOB SUMMARY: The RN / GN must have the skill and knowledge to provide population specific care. He/She must have the ability to assess, evaluate, identify, and interpret the requirement and needs of the patients and perform based on those findings. The RN / GN reports directly to Charge Nurse/Manager/Director. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: a.) RN graduate of Accredited School of Nursing. Licensure/Certification Must have valid, current license by the Missouri State Board of Nursing. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)Required. ACLS Certification within first year of hire. Cardiac dysrhythmia class within six months of hire. Work Experience: a.) Successful completion of hospital orientation RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES: Provide guidance and provide appropriate patient care to all ages and oversee LPN’s and CNA’s. Documentation of care in the EMR, that is accurate and detailed of the patient’s care and conditions. This includes making sure care plan is appropriate. Monitor for changes in medical condition by assessments and notify physician if appropriate Assist with procedures by physician’s as needed. Preform nursing skills (IV starting, NG placements, dressing changes, wound care, catheter placement, ect) and provide health care for hospitalized patient. Scan and administer medications to patients and monitor for side effects. Provide protection of medical record and maintain HIPPA compliance. Fill out incident reports as needed for actual events and near misses. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED STAFF COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates support for organizational and departmental mission.
