Job Details
Our Assistant Nurse Manager for the Cath Lab will:
- Provide leadership and direction in accordance with department goals and policies.
- Participate with Nurse Manager in resolving personnel problems and counsel employees in accordance with established policies.
- Aid in the orientation/mentoring of new employees.
- Participate in the completion of performance evaluations for Nursing and Support staff.
- Assist Nurse Manager in planning, projecting and monitoring staffing needs based on unit census, acuity and skill mix.
- Administer, plan, initiate and evaluate nursing care to patients with knowledge and skill.
- Be responsible for safe patient assignment based on the nursing department’s delivery model of care including matching patient needs to staff’s competency.
- Delegate tasks to the appropriate personnel while retaining responsibility and accountability.
- Be responsible for the health and safety of patients and employees.
- Assist Nurse Manager in ensuring unit participation and staff knowledge of all emergency procedures and drills.
- Ensure that personnel and equipment are in constant readiness to respond to patient emergencies.
- Retain ownership of all department and unit-based performance improvement data and activities.
- Share knowledge and expertise through mentoring, huddles and/or staff meetings.
- Maintain professional competency and seek opportunity for self-growth.
- Supervise and check the work of staff.
- Support administrative decision and changes within the department.
- Practice regular hand hygiene and comply with standard and transmission-based precautions as applicable.
- Respond appropriately to the special needs of each group served specific to age, language, gender, culture, religion/spirituality, economic background, education or literacy, developmental or cognitive disabilities, physical and developmental disabilities.
What you'll bring:
- Passion for Cardiology
- 2+ years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience in Cath Lab required.
- Prior experience as an Assistant Nurse Manager preferred.
- Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required
- Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Position is moderate and will require wearing lead and standing for long periods of time.
Salary Range
USD $61.47 - USD $78.73 /Hr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
