School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin

Step into a vital role supporting student health and well-being as a school-based Registered Nurse! A contract opportunity is available at a single school site in the Milwaukee area, beginning as soon as possible and extending through June 15, 2027. With a weekday schedule totaling 37.5 hours per week, youll contribute to a positive, nurturing environment by delivering skilled medical care to children in the school health room.

As the school nurse, you will play an essential part in safeguarding the wellness of a diverse student population. Youll collaborate with educators, students, and families to meet health needs and promote a thriving school environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Wisconsin RN license (required)
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university
  • Current CPR and AED certification
  • At least 1 year of experience in pediatrics (preferred)
  • Demonstrated physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Valid Wisconsin drivers license
  • Recent experience as an RN (within the past 2 years) or completion of a refresher course within the last year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct care in the school health room, managing minor illnesses, injuries, and chronic health needs
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments following care protocols
  • Support the development of individualized health plans and maintain accurate health records
  • Respond swiftly to emergency health situations using your nursing expertise
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment for students and staff, providing guidance on health-related matters
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and the school community about student health concerns
