Job Overview

We are seeking a Trained Medication Aide to support our residents in our Skilled Nursng Facility in Burnsville, MN. This role is responsible for providing senior resident care and services including administration of medications in our long term care and transitional care units under the direction of the nurse.

 

This TMA patient support position includes;

  • Casual
  • Day/Evening/Night hours
  • 3 shifts per month, including 1 weekend shift

  • Assists resident with personal cares based on individual plan of care
  • Observes residents and reports status to appropriate staff in a clear, concise manner
  • Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed
  • Follows all shift routines regarding measuring of vital signs, weights, and administration of medications and treatments
  • Dispenses meds using the right route, medication, resident time, and dose
  • Maintains an awareness of actual and potential side effects, adverse reactions, contraindications and purposes of medications
  • Maintains a clean medication cart


Required Qualifications

  • Nursing Assistant Course
  • Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
  • Completion a standardized medication administration training program for unlicensed personnel in nursing homes which is offered through a Minnesota postsecondary educational institution. This does not expire as long as they keep their NAR certification current.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or
  • GED
  • 1 year None to 1 Year
