Join the dedicated team at Core Pediatrics in Epping, NH, where you'll play an essential role in delivering exceptional care to children and their families. We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant who thrives in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification/registration required for hires after 11/28/2011, or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Candidates credentialed through a formal training program that includes knowledge testing will also be considered
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of hire
Clinical Support
- Perform pre-visit work, obtain vital signs, complete medication reconciliation, and assist providers with examinations and procedures.
- Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization and ensure exam rooms are cleaned, stocked, and ready for patient care.
- Respond to patient phone and portal messages the same day in accordance with standard work procedures and messaging policies.
- Utilize standing protocols to complete pre-visit work, close gaps in care, administer vaccines, and process prescription refills.
- Schedule pre-admission and diagnostic testing as needed and conduct post-surgical follow-up calls to patients.
May Perform Daily Practice Operations, Including
- Patient check-in and check-out
- Scheduling appointments
- Answering phones and taking messages
- Organizing and maintaining patient records
- Filing, copying, and retrieving patient documents
- Collecting co-pays and patient balances
- Posting payments and adjustments
- Balancing daily journals
- Follow all Core Physicians policies, procedures, and federal regulations, including patient confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Participate in daily huddles, complete assigned action items, and work collaboratively with the care team to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
- Monitor care team metrics and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and outcome tracking.
- In select practices, perform medical scribing duties by accompanying providers during patient visits, accurately documenting encounters, entering lab orders, referrals, and prescriptions as directed by the provider.
- Provide coverage at other Core Physicians locations as needed based on operational priorities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
