What You’ll Do

Responsibilities vary according to each client’s individualized care plan and may include:

Providing companionship and meaningful social interaction
Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other personal care needs
Assisting with mobility, transfers, and walking
Preparing meals and snacks
Providing medication reminders
Performing light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, changing bed linens, vacuuming, sweeping, and tidying
Accompanying clients on errands and appointments
Assisting with grocery shopping and other daily activities
Providing dementia and cognitive support
Engaging clients through conversation, reading, music, games, and puzzles
Providing respite and support for family caregivers
Observing and reporting changes in a client’s condition or needs
Helping maintain a safe, comfortable, and positive home environment

Qualifications

Previous professional or personal caregiving experience is preferred
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and the Right at Home team
Ability to follow an individualized care plan
Ability to successfully complete required background screening
Reliable transportation
Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance when driving is required for an assignment
Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of assigned caregiving duties
CNA, Home Health Aide, or another caregiving certification is welcomed but not required for all positions
A positive attitude and a genuine desire to help others
