RN Telemetry Part-time

Department: Level 2
Work Hours: Part time, one 12 hr and one 8 hr shift per week, day/evening, weekends and holidays

Provides professional nursing care practicing legal nursing responsibilities as indicated by the Nurse Practice Act. For a Graduate Nurse this will be under the supervision of an experienced registered nurse.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing, current Pennsylvania licensure, other state licensure as required and a valid Pennsylvania temporary practice permit for GN.

Within six months of hire date, the Graduate Nurse must complete the licensing examination.

Basic Cardiac Life Support. ACLS (must obtain within 6-month introductory period).

Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred

Bachelors of Science Degree in nursing. Two years of acute care nursing experience and two years of Telemetry experience. Certification in this specialty area.

DAY/NIGHT ROTATION Hours: 7a-730p, 7p-730a Job Summary : Responsible for providing direct care on 5 Main, which is a Medical/ Surgical/Cardiovascular Telemetry unit that provides acute nursing care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring. The Registered Nurse's responsibilities include but are not limited to utilization of the nursing process in the provision of care, excellent customer service skills and communication skills, flexibility, quality improvement activities and professional growth for the following patient population: 1. Post-operative cardiothoracic surgical patients that are hemodynamically stable 2. Surgical patients requiring post-operative cardiac monitoring 3. Patients with coronary artery disease awaiting open heart surgery. 4. Patients with angina pectoris with and without cardiac interventions. 5. Patients with diagnosis of heart failure requiring cardiac monitoring. 6. Neuro medical requiring cardiac monitoring. 7. Medical surgical overflow not requiring cardiac monitoring. 8. Patients with concurrent mental health needs. The Registered Nurse will support the patients and families physical and emotional health. Education ⚬ Minimum: Graduate of a Registered Nurse Program ⚬ Preferred: Bachelor Degree in Nursing. Registration/Certification/Licensure : Current PA RN license, Healthcare Provider CPR, ACLS completed within one year of hire/transfer. Experience ⚬ Minimum: Clinical rotation through educational program. ⚬ Preferred: Clinical experience evident within the past 3 years or completion of refresher course within the last year. Other Requirements : Comprehensive Crisis Management per policy.
