Director of Nursing

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: · Promote the mission, values and vision of organization. · Provide excellent customer service for patients, practices confidentiality and privacy protocols in accordance HIPAA requirements. · Lead the nursing staff in delivering excellent care to patients and offering quality support to the medical staff. · Ensure that each nurse on staff is properly certified and abides by the standards for care established by the organization and state and federal laws. · Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel (registered nurses, LPN etc.) Including but not limited to: Hiring, Scheduling, Staff Development, and Termination. · Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department · Guide staffing procedures · Organize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care procedures within department · Create new policies and update existing policies to help improve the level of care for each patient; enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high-quality standards. · Resolve issues and deficiencies, as needed. · Manage record-keeping procedures. · Collaborate with leadership team to streamline operations. · Implement quality improvement programs designed to help us deliver the highest possible levels of service. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing or related field is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Current RN license – Florida. Minimum of two (2) years nursing, supervisory experience. Strong understanding of local, state and federal laws and guidelines. Experience working in a medical/sub-acute, detox environment; strongly preferred. Working knowledge of Joint Commission and AHCA standards; preferred. Relevant computer software and hardware applications proficiency – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Electronic Medical Records,; Sunwave preferred. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. CPR/1st Aid/Aggression Control/Blood borne Pathogens. SKILLS: · Able to respond calmly during an emergency. · Energy and flexibility necessary to meet the changing needs of patients, staff, and business needs. · Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
