Job Summary:

Altra Homecare of Kokomo, a community-based personal service agency, is seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as a Portland Caregiver. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering essential personal care services tailored to meet the unique needs of our patients in the comfort of their own homes. Responsibilities:

Assist with patient laundry when necessary
Provide medication reminders
Ensure patient safety
Report significant changes in the patient's condition directly to their supervisor
Prepare light meals and assist with patient feeding when required
Monitor and record patient temperature
Assist patients with ambulation
Conduct range of motion exercises and other simple physical activities
Maintain comprehensive documentation and adhere to care protocols
Follow privacy policies and infection control guidelines
Offer bathing assistance
Perform light housekeeping
Provide companion services, including letter-writing and reading

Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age or older
Possess a valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance
Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience
Ability to read, follow written instructions, and document care provided
Current CPR certification
Comply with training requirements as per State and Federal laws
