Fauquier Health's ICU is home to Critical Care trained physicians, making us a unique community hospital that provides 24/7 critical care intensivist coverage. Our ICU provides the services our community needs close to home.

The Nurse Residency program is a 12-month program with extended orientation, clinical experiences, and classroom time to facilitate transition to private practice. Throughout this program, new nurses gain the opportunity for clinical growth and development through continuous support from experienced mentors and preceptors. 

How you'll contribute   

A Nurse Resident who excels in this role: 

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs 
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions 
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient 
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record 
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient

What we're looking for 
New graduate nurses with less than 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse are eligible for the Nurse Residency Program. Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 7 days of hire. 
  • ACLS is required within 6 months of hire.
  • NIHSS is required within 6 months of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
