Patient care is delivered by nearly 400 healthcare employees representing a diverse multidisciplinary team of nurses & nurse support staff, physicians, psychiatrists, social workers and other professionals. CHS supports Miami Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation at 3 facilities in Miami-Dade County and leverages the resources of a large public safety net health system in the areas of education, quality, risk management & compliance. Summary PRM LPN performs advanced practical nursing work in the care and treatment of patients in assigned area(s). Employees in this classification perform a variety of nursing care assignments in one or more medical areas, requiring more advanced knowledge and skills of practical nursing. Emphasis of the work is on performance of specialized as well as more difficult and responsible duties in patient care, giving assistance to physicians and nurses, and performing instructional tasks. Responsibilities Interviews patient about current problems, medications, and allergies and reviews medical record for pertinent previous and current information. Keeps patients informed of their medical condition and the course of treatment being prescribed by an MD. Performs variety of office responsibilities: answers phones and takes messages and performs triage within scope of licensed practical nursing practice in an accurate and timely manner.
